We are thrilled to announce that as of October, Longview Ranch has officially established carbon rights for our 20,000 acres of timberland, marking a significant milestone in our commitment to sustainability. This achievement comes after a two-year partnership with ANEW, where we meticulously conducted a forest inventory and applied to the American Carbon Registry (ACR) to solidify our carbon rights.
A 40-Year Commitment to Preservation
Our commitment at Longview Ranch is clear: the forest will never be clearcut. This initiative ensures that our timberland will be preserved for at least the next forty years, allowing it to thrive and flourish as a vital ecosystem. By safeguarding this land, we’re not only protecting the environment but also enhancing the quality of life for our community.
Strategic Use of Carbon Revenue
To further our mission, Longview Ranch has entered into a three-year contract to sell our carbon rights through ANEW. The revenue generated from this partnership will be strategically reinvested into the forest. Our focus is on creating optimal spacing for our trees, ranging from 12 to 15 feet apart. This careful management allows the trees at Longview Ranch to grow four times faster compared to overcrowded conditions, ensuring their health and vitality.

In addition to proper spacing, we’re dedicated to removing diseased and bug-infested trees on our property.
