Oregon’s Longview Ranch’s New Hay Barn from Repurposed Lumber
Longview Ranch, located along Central Oregon’s historic Route 19 in Kimberly, maintains 30,000 stunning acres of diverse landscape.
This summer, Oregon’s Longview Ranch will build an 84' x 84' hay barn. This will be the perfect place to store the great hay the ranch harvests each year. A unique aspect of this hay barn is that 80 percent of the wood used in the barn will be from trees harvested from the ranch and milled at a small local log mill.
With the high prices of lumber, Longview Ranch can instead build this barn out of milled lumber for 1/3 of current commercial costs and enjoy the local trees being used in the structures.
